Ascraeus Mons
One of the prominent
shield volcanoes
of the
Tharsis Ridge
region of
Mars
. It is about 250 kilometres (150 miles) in diameter and rises to a height of 27 kilometres (17 miles), 17 kilometres above the level of the surrounding ridge.
